Zozzona launches new pasta omakase menu in Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui neighbourhood favourite Zozzona has introduced Hong Kong’s first dedicated pasta omakase menu, leaving your dinner choices entirely in the hands of Chef Takayuki Kumai.

A seasonal menu driven by Japanese-Italian craft

Zozzona’s new tasting menu hands full creative control over to Chef Takayuki Kumai, focusing entirely on fresh, in-house handmade pasta shaped by Japanese precision. Guests sitting counter-side can view raw pasta selections displayed in a wooden presentation box before courses arrive.

The tasting journey opens with a Sweet Corn & Chicken Dashi Soup topped with fried onion and truffle oil, followed by an antipasto course of Shima-Aji Crudo dressed with summer plum ponzu, cucumber, and fresh plum.

Three pasta courses defining the experience

The core of the menu consists of three distinct handmade pasta dishes that blend seasonal Japanese produce with traditional Italian formats.

  • Homemade Capellini: Served chilled with tomato-konbu dashi, seared scallop, caviar, sudachi, and semi-dried tomato.
  • Homemade Chitarra: Tossed with bluefin tuna cheek brasato, Arima sansho pepper, pistachios, and white sesame molica.
  • Homemade Fettuccine: Paired with slow-cooked Napoli-style ‘Genovese’ pork ragù, semi-dried fig, parmesan cheese, and black pepper.

The meal concludes with a light dessert pairing of Daily Gelato and Seasonal Japanese Fruit.
